Supporting a local dog shelter
Project Type: donation
Recipient: Impronte di Zampe nel Cuore
Goal: helping a local organization support the life of 30 dogs and increase their chances of getting adopted
Why this project?
2024 has been an amazing year for Stoic Money.
We have helped hundreds of students become confident investors and accumulated over a hundred of new video testimonials.
We feel very grateful for the trust our students put in us everyday and we wanted to give something back, as a reminder to never be selfish when things go well.
Â
What did we do?
Being savvy investors, we wanted to make sure of something: to find a charity that could invest well the money!
So we started to look for the best charity to support.
The first thing we did was to go local, not global.
We didn’t just want to send a wire transfer somewhere and never know what happened next.
So we selected a list of local charities in the Veneto region, Italy (where we are based) and actually visited them in person!
After a long research, we were impressed with the work of a local dog shelter called Impronte di Zampe nel Cuore.
This association includes only volunteers (about 40) that rescue dogs from terrible living situations such as "lager dogs", help them get adopted and give them food and a shelter every single day.
After visiting the shelter, we donated €3,000 to support the living conditions of the dogs there and increasing their chances of getting adopted.
 Â
What impact did we have?
Each dog needs about €5 per day to survive between food and bills.
As on average the dog shelter hosts 20 dogs, it costs €100 per day to run the shelter!
So with our €3,000 donation, we supported their wellbeing for one month.
If you want to support this initiative, you can check out their Instagram page to find ways to help or, if you are based in North Italy, you can directly visit the shelter in Roncade (Treviso area).
